GREAT H2 introduces itself
On February 24, 2022, under the title “GREAT H2 – perspectives for industrial hydrogen applications”, Thuringia’s hydrogen stakeholders provided exclusive insights into this future topic. The online seminar attracted over 70 interested participants from economical, science and political sectors. Dr. Martin Gude from the Thuringian Ministry for Environment, Energy and Nature Conservation emphasized in his welcoming speech the importance of green hydrogen for the energy supply of companies to reduce CO2 emissions in Thuringia. The innovative project GREAT H2, funded by the same ministry, introduced itself to the general public for the first time.
In addition to ThEEN e.V., the new HySON Institute for Applied Hydrogen Research Sonneberg gGmbH was also given the opportunity to present its new area of expertise. Exciting insights into new hydrogen technologies were given by Prof. Dr. Stelter of Fraunhofer IKTS. The Thuringian Energy and GreenTech Agency (ThEGA) GmbH was also represented, and Prof. Dr. Sell presented its current hydrogen activities. The presentations were followed by an hour-long interactive session in which burning questions about hydrogen were discussed. Participants had already been given the opportunity to ask questions during registration and during the webinar, as such, these questions were also taken up during the event. The live discussion once again clearly showed: Hydrogen is a top issue in climate protection. Thuringia, as well as Germany as a whole, must now take action to become a pioneer in the hydrogen economy. GREAT H2 is making its contribution to the decarbonization of Thuringia’s industry.
